
Ian Kirk
Director
Ian Kirk is a a Director of GTC, and
a Partner at Collas Crill.
Ian specialises in banking, insurance and corporate
transactions. He has been involved in many of the largest and most
complex corporate transactions on the Island in recent years. He is
an acknowledged expert in Guernsey Company Law and has recently
published the definitive text on Guernsey company legislation,
'Kirk on Guernsey Company Law'.
According to Chambers 2011, Ian 'is reliable, to-the-point and
inspires confidence' and was previously described as 'one of the
brightest people I've ever met and he always gets straight to the
point' and 'no matter how unprecedented your question, you get the
feeling he's seen it
before'. Legal 500 2009 stated that his 'depth of knowledge and
flexibility is reassuring during complex, high-pace deals'.
Ian has been a partner since 1998, having joined Collas Crill in
1994. He was called to the Guernsey Bar 1998. Ian previous worked
in London for Edwin Coe and Freshfields, where he completed his
articles. He was admitted as a Solicitor of England and Wales in
1984. Ian is a regular speaker on company law, corporate
governance, directors' duties and financial services regulation. He
is a fellow of the Institute of Directors and a former Chairman of
the Institute of Directors, Guernsey Branch.
